Dead Air – Primal – Multi-Purpose Suppressor
The multi-purpose .46 caliber Primal.
Optimized for big caliber high-pressure rifles, but adaptable enough for your pistol – and everything in between.
Extreme versatility makes it the king of multi-platform shooting. Direct thread simplicity, quick-attach Keymo, accuracy-driven Xeno, pistol boosters, and 3-lug for subgun fun, are all made possible thanks to our industry-standard 1.375”-24 rear threads and our newly engineered HUB to P-Series adapter.
To get you started, we’re including a 5/8-24 direct thread insert and the HUB to P-Series adapter. The Primal is ready for Nomad, Wolfman, and Ghost compatible mounts, right out of the box.
From 9mm to .45 ACP, and 45-70 to .338 Lapua, like a rabid beast the Primal will eat just about anything you give it. If you only want one silencer (to begin with), the Primal is it. Feed it what you want, mount it how you want. Your gun is waiting.
HUB mounting system compatible. Use direct thread, Xeno, or Keymo, and with the included HUB to P-Series adapter, the Primal accepts 3-lug and booster adapters.

Having standard 1.375×24 (HUB) rear threads means you aren’t trapped in a proprietary mount ecosystem. I promptly threw a Rearden Atlas mount on it to quickly swap it across my entire collection of taper-mount muzzle devices. It makes the suppressor truly universal across multiple rifle brands.

Ran three full-auto rated magazines through my 9mm subgun back-to-back. The Cerakote finish smoked a little bit, but the suppressor held structural alignment perfectly. More importantly, my hunting rifle’s return-to-zero was completely consistent after letting the can cool down and remounting it for an upcoming elk trip.

I took the Primal out to Montana for an elk hunt on my lightweight Christensen Arms 7mm Rem Mag. Magnum hunting rifles are notoriously loud and violent, but this completely changed the experience. I was able to hunt without bulky ear protection, and when I took my shot, the sound was totally manageable in the open field. Point of impact shifted exactly 1 inch low at 100 yards, which was perfectly repeatable and easy to dial into my scope.

I love that Dead Air included the HUB to P-Series adapter right in the box. It allows the Primal to accept the booster assemblies and pistons meant for the Wolfman and Ghost.

I live in a state where we are restricted to straight-wall cartridges for deer hunting, so I shoot a .450 Bushmaster bolt action. The muzzle blast from that round is usually deafening and clears out the benches next to me at the range. The Primal tames the beast perfectly. It smooths out the sharp recoil impulse into a manageable push and eliminates the concussive blast entirely. Highly recommended for midwest hunters.

While this is a .46 caliber can, it performs shockingly well on my 8″ .300 Blackout bolt gun. When running 220-grain subsonic ammo, the only thing you hear is the firing pin hitting the primer and the bullet hitting the dirt downrange. It sounds like a movie gun. I did swap out the factory .46 end cap for a dedicated .30 cal end cap, which cut out a ton of the gas bypass and made it noticeably quieter at the ear.

I’ve put over 2,000 rounds through my Primal over the last year across a dozen different firearms—everything from a .223 SBR to a .45 ACP handgun. The rugged 17-4 steel core cleans up easily with a quick soak in standard carbon solvent, and the exterior Cerakote coating still looks brand new despite getting thrown in and out of my range bags. It’s an investment that is absolutely built to last.

I bought the Primal primarily to host on my Marlin 1895 Dark Series in .45-70, and running heavy subsonic handloads through this setup is pure joy. It completely tames the violent kick of the big-bore round and drops the sound signature right down to a dull, hearing-safe thud. If you want a “hush-puppy” cowboy rifle, this is the can to get.

This thing is a solid tank. I regularly abuse it on my .458 SOCOM AR and a bolt-action .300 Win Mag. It handles the blistering muzzle energy without a hint of structural flinching or erosion.
